Cefotaxime
General properties
Antibacterials for systemic use. Beta-lactam antibiotics. 3d generation cephalosporins. Cefotaxime.
Infections caused by drug-susceptible bacteria:
- ENT infections (angina, otitis);
- respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy, abscesses);
- genitourinary tract infections;
- septicemia, bacteremia;
- intra-abdominal infections (including peritonitis);
- skin and soft tissue infections;
- bone and joint infections;
- meningitis (excluding listeriosis) and other infections of the central nervous system.
Prevention of infections after surgical operations on the digestive tract, urological and obstetric-gynecologic operations.
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins and other beta-lactam antibiotics, hypersensitivity to lidocaine (intramuscular injection); bleeding, enterocolitis in past history (especially non-specific ulcerative colitis).
AV blocks without heart rhythm driver implanted, severe heart failure.
Pharmaceutical characteristics
White or slightly yellowish powder.
No special storage conditions are required. Keep out of reach of children.
