Zidovudine
General properties
Antiviral agents of direct action; Nucleoside and nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Zidovudine.
Use in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV infection in children and adults. Prevention of transplacental infection of the fetus and the primary prevention of HIV infection in infants.
Hypersensitivity to zidovudine, or to other components of the drug. The abnormally low neutrophil counts (less than 0,75х109/l) or abnormally low hemoglobin level (less than 7,5 g/L or 4,65 mmol/L). Hyperbilirubinemia in infants, requiring additional, distinctive from the phototherapy treatment, or increase more than five-times from normal transaminase levels.
Pharmaceutical characteristics
Clear colorless or light-yellow colored liquid with characteristic strawberry odor.
Keep at temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
